In Kentucky, non union mines reopen amid a two day UMW strike. A 90 truck convoy left Pyramid Coal Co. McHenry after pickets jeered and rocks were thrown. Two drivers were arrested for tarpaulin violations. Guards watched Belfry Coal Corp. loading stockpiles while other mines operated without hauling coal.
