Ottawa Soldier Prepares for Iraq Deployment and Training
An Ottawa man, Hedrick, trains at the Ottawa National Guard Armory before a roughly 600 day deployment to Iraq. He signs papers, uses federal relief act benefits, and plans to write a series of letters home. He recalls family influence, his gym routine, faith, and his hopes for safety and democracy abroad. He will leave from the local airport and writes about life at home during service.
