Building block upheld for Tahoe preservation
The Supreme Court declined to expand Americans property rights and upheld a Lake Tahoe moratorium on building as a valid temporary environmental measure. In a 6 3 decision the justices said time limits on temporary bans are permissible and that state legislatures should craft general rules, preserving environmental protection and not forcing compensation for a temporary takings action.

Prom outfits crafted from duct tape stun at Wisconsin prom
Shaelyn Benson and David Daniels at North Crawford High School in Wisconsin wore Renaissance style gowns and suits made from duct tape costing about 20 dollars each. They drew many photos at the prom and pre-prom dinner while aiming to win Duck Brand Duct Tape’s Stuck at the Prom contest for scholarships totaling 5,000 dollars. Benson repurposed an old dress, added maroon duct tape designs, a zipper, and a duct tape rose. Daniels wore black with maroon trim after about 20 hours of work with his mother helping.
