Plea on wall leads to arrest in Georgia for alleged captivity
A Tennesse rest stop note plea sparked an arrest after deputies traced a truck to Interstate 16 in Georgia. Katina L. Shaddix said she had been held by Shannon E. Jones for a year. Jones, 26, of Delhi New York, is charged with aggravated assault. Shaddix was treated then sent to a homeless shelter.

Tahoe moratorium ruling upholds temporary takings question
The Supreme Court declined to expand Americans property rights and upheld the Lake Tahoe moratorium on development as a permissible temporary government action. In a 6-3 decision the justices affirmed that a temporary ban can be non compensable while reviewing environmental protection under the takings clause. Justice Stevens led the majority saying state legislatures should shape general rules while concurring opinions reflected concerns about lengthy pauses. The case centers on the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency’s six year construction moratorium and owners seeking 27 million dollars in damages.
