State Lobbyists Toss More Bucks Around This Year
Kansas lobbyists spent about 224000 in the first quarter, up from the prior year, with energy sector groups the largest spenders. Public Disclosure Commission data show nearly 550 registered lobbyists, 3223726 in total, and expenditures surpassing 1986's yearly mark. Major spenders include Janet Stubbs of the Kansas Society of Association Executives and groups opposing the severance tax on oil and gas.
