Ottawa area debates rec center plan split with old middle school
Kansas Legislature reconvenes to weigh bills and a Franklin County sales tax proposal while Ottawa and Franklin County leaders clash between two recreation center plans. The Friends of Historic Buildings push to convert the old middle school into a county center, but lack a path to a 1/4 cent sales tax. The school board may delay decision, awaiting city and county proposals and site details before acting.
