Kansan keeps vast brick collection across several rooms
Independence resident David Ward, member of the International Association of Brick Collectors, guards a 1500 brick trove spanning his garage and adjoining utility room. Bricks from 48 states plus Scotland, Ireland, Singapore, Korea and Mexico feature emblems from sunflowers to Civil War relics. He values old Kansas bricks and trades at swap meets, keeping many miniature samples.
