Flags honor Therressa Wright at Wellsville church
A memorial pair of American and Christian flags was gifted to Wellsville Baptist Church by Therressa Wright’s children. Made by Linnie Tyler, the flags date to Easter Sunday 1957 era with three sets previously created for the church and Assembly of God. Tyler notes the evolving materials from Indian head cloth to silk and sailcloth, detailing the intricate process of stitching 50 stars on both blue fields and the cost differences. She has also crafted a Rebekah Lodge banner and visited Betsy Ross’s home, imagining her reaction if alive today.
