Bowman signs to play softball for Ottawa University
Anderson County senior catcher outfielder Michelle Bowman signed to play at Ottawa University. Bowman earned three volleyball letters and four in softball, helped Lawrence Phenix win a state title last summer, and earned honorable mention all league in volleyball. Ottawa coach Jay Kahnit praised her catching and arm, and Bowman plans to major in elementary education.

Gardner Ottawa High School golfer Cody Croucher finished fifth at the Gardner Junior Varsity Invitational with a 44 in a three way tie. Ottawa placed fifth at 205 behind teammates Jake Diel Chris Cook Greg Morrow and Brian Ferrell as the squad prepares for Monday at Paola.

Wellsville High School girls track team broke a school record at the Baker Relays, winning the sprint medley relay in 1 minute 57.0 seconds and the distance medley relay. Shockers nip Kansas in late RBI single
Wichita State defeated Kansas 2-1 as Andy Dirks scored the winning run on Conor Gillaspie’s RBI single in the seventh inning.
