House Leaders Keep Pothole Bill Alive
The House Ways and Means Committee kept a $5 million plan running to fund road repairs in cities and counties from the state highway fund. The measure, added to the omnibus appropriations bill for 1978, will be reconsidered when the session resumes, despite Senate rejection of an earlier $5 million road repair allocation. Rep. Jack Rodrock urged another Senate effort. The omnibus bill also restores Gov. Bennett’s $1,085,960 recommendation for the Kansas Public Television Board and related programs.
