Balloons Launch From Pomona School For Pen Pal Drive
Forty one balloons were released by POMONA-ALL 41 second and fourth graders as part of the Writing Pal Balloon Contest from My Weekly Reader. Each balloon carried a card with name and address seeking letters from recipients. Teachers Gladys Brust and Mary Schleicher described the program as English and spelling practice plus a bridge to pen pals in Mt Arlington New Jersey and Victor New York.
