Bull Kills Two Bulls In Cedar Rapids Shootout

Cedar Rapids police blotter hails Policeman John Hlavacek as champion bull shooter after two bulls escaped from Andrew Polehna's meat plant. He cornered the animals in a field and fired twice, killing both.

Coyote-Lickteig Bounty Earned at County Clerk Office

Coyote-Hubert J Lickteig of Greeley collected a bounty yesterday at the county clerk’s office. A car crash on USS50S near Silkville at 8:30 p.m. involved a westbound 1954 Chevrolet driven by Keith C Llewellyne 23 of St Joseph. The cow owner is John Netherland of Silkville Ranch. Damages listed at 350 dollars. The cow was killed by its owner. Over 50 flamingoes expected to hatch at Hialeah race track this spring. The birds live on an island in the 32 acre jib field lake at the Florida track.

Deaths Former Ottawan Dies in Kansas City

George Clark a former Ottawa resident, died Wednesday night in Bethany hospital Kansas City Kansas. He was about 50 and manager of the Karbe grocery in Ottawa before moving to Muncie ten years ago. Survivors include his widow a daughter Mrs Bob Williamson of Muncie and two sons Tommy and Billie at home. Ottawans attended the funeral at the Methodist church in Muncie today.
