Date set in Perry lawsuit in Franklin County
A hearing on County Clerk Shaun Perry's lawsuit against the Franklin County Commission is scheduled for 10 a.m. May 11 in Franklin County District Court. District Judge James J. Smith will hear the motion to dismiss the suit, which seeks to block payroll transfers from Perry's office to the human resources department and to obtain an injunction and restraining order. Perry's attorney argues the commission deprives her of state law duties and usurps control of her office, while the commission counters Perry has not shown impairment of duties.
