Mead's no hitter powers Braves to series win
Ottawa University baseball split a Saturday doubleheader with Bethany College as Mead pitched a nine inning no hitter in a 3-1 win. OU dropped game two 3-0. Sunday’s 12-7 rally featured Quintana and Boardman key hits and a six RBI finish. The Braves (13-21, 10-11 KCAC) travel to York College for a three game set starting Saturday at 1 p.m.

Men's team opened with six straight goals and surged to a 15-1 win at Peoples Bank Field. Pearson Willis led with four goals as Aidan Baker added three and Ottawa dominated faceoffs 17 of 20. The Braves next play Central Christian College Friday at 7 p.m. in McPherson.

Ottawa University placed second in a two day golf event at Hesston and Sand Creek with a team total 599 six strokes behind Bethel. Top OU finishers include JT Engelbart 146 and Doug Radley 149, Cameron Cross 153, Michael Kinkelaar 155, Jordan Bulcock 157, Tanner Pauls 159, Jacob Becker 160, Brendyn Eigenman 165, and Austin Levin 178. Ottawa second team finished 14th with scores led by 48 Tanner Pauls and 58 Jacob Becker. Beach volleyball results show Principia College defeating OU 4-0, with OU players posting a few wins in mixed doubles.

Ottawa University earns an at large bid to the NAIA Invitational, securing a second consecutive national berth. The Braves, 21 7 in the regular season and ranked No 3, join eight teams headed to Des Moines, with pool play starting April 17. Ottawa is the No 3 seed in Pool B and faces Benedictine Mesa, Cardinal Stritch, and Grand View.
