Bank Dead Man Mystery Strains North Carolina Bank
More than 400 Central Carolina Bank customers were wrongly declared dead, blocking Social Security benefits. The bank will reinstate the accounts of people who formerly banked with First Union in western North Carolina and the Savannah area. Dora Sumner of Asheville voiced disbelief, saying she was alive.
