Gordon to attempt Indy 500 and Coca Cola 600 double
Robby Gordon will race the Indy 500 in May driving the No. 31 Dallara for John Menard and Richard Childress, then fly to Charlotte to run the Coca Cola 600 in Childress' No. 31 Chevrolet sponsored by Cingular Wireless. He eyed a May 26 double in 1997 and 2000 but rain delayed both events. Gordon has four top six Indy 500 finishes in seven starts and led in 1999 before fuel ran out.
