Ottawa could accelerate building the new sewage treatment plant as soon as this summer to curb odors from the old digester basin. City officials weigh options, including larger aeration, two-contract design with PEC, and possibly transporting sludge to an incinerator, while converting to an aerobic system in the new facility.
