Kansas budget progress spurs tax relief talk in Senate House
Revenue windfall prompts Graves and lawmakers to rethink fiscal 1999 spending and tax relief. Senate approves an $8.5 billion budget and hog farm standards bill while the House advances a property tax relief package worth $202 million and a telecom measure. House support signals willingness to drop parts of the broader $190 million relief plan, prioritizing immediate property tax cuts and a pension COLA proposal.
