Montgomery County Attorney Tom Crossan said Coffeyville physician Dr. EB Squire was arrested on a coroner s warrant charging manslaughter in the first degree. Mary Midgett 34 of Independence died yesterday in an Independence hospital after an attempted abortion. Sheriff Huggins and a Kansas Bureau of Investigation representative arrested the doctor who was jailed at Independence and will be arraigned later today in Coffeyville City Court.
Two men burned to death early today as fire swept a four story residential hotel in Asbury Park New Jersey. Victims identified include Fred and another man still unnamed. Fire officials investigate cause as residents escape in panic.
