Iola Farmer Top Dairyman Named 1981 Kansas Distinguished Dairyman
Ivan Strickler of Iola, a 59 year old dairy farmer with a 171 cow milking operation on a 1000 acre farm, was named Kansas Distinguished Dairyman for 1981 at the Dairy Herd Improvement Association meeting in Newton on March 13. The honor honors excellence in dairy enterprise and leadership at local and state levels. Strickler and family run the operation with his wife Madge and son Steven, and he serves as immediate past president of the Holstein Association of America and president of the Mid-America Dairymen corporate board.
