HAISTON—VIETH The following account of the mar riage of Mr. John Haiston and Miss Lula Vieth is given in the Oakland Acron, of Oakland, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Haiston visited his mother, Mrs. J. B. Haiston and family here the fore part of this week They were on their way to Broadwater, where they will spend a few days before returning to Omaha for their future home. One of the crowning events of the season took place Tuesday evening, when Miss Lula Vieth was joined in holy wedlock to Mr. Frank BE, Halston of Omaha, Neb. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride in the presence of the immediate rela tives and a few intimate friends. The Rev. Charles M. Edmondson, pastor of the Oakhuoid M.E. church, officiated. Mrs. IL. E. Dool played the wedding march and Mrs. C. C. Vieth sang, “I Love You Truly.” A beautiful form of the ring ceremony was used, little Bernita Barnum, niece of the bride, carrying the ring in a rose. They were attended by Miss Marguerite Gregg, who wore a gown of pale green taffeta and carried a bouquet of pink roses, and by Dart Smith of Macedonia. The ceremony was simple, but very im pressive. The bride wore a gown of maize taf feta and tulle, trimmed with pearls, all carried a bouquet of white tea roses. The groom wore a dark blue suit. The home was prettily decorated with asters. Miss Vieth is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Vieth and has spent her entire life here. She graduated from the Oakland high school in 1914 and later attended the Iowa State Teachers’ College, where she became a member of the Pi Theta Pi sorority. She has since been a successful teacher in the rural schools and in the graded school at McClelland, Towa. She is loved by all who know her and will be missed greatly by the younger Set, with whom she has been very popular. Mr. Waiston is the son of Mrs.,and the late Mr. J. B. Haiston of Sidney, Nebr. He is a graduate of the high school at that place. After graduation he took special training in construction work and accepted a position with the Van Ness Construction Company in Omaha. He has been with that com pany for the past nine years except for a time spent in the service of his coun try and is at present a foreman in that company. He is a young man of ex cellent character and has made many friends in this community on his visits here. These young people are deservedly popular and merit the esteem in which they are held. They received many beautiful and useful gifts. They begin wedded life under the most favorable circumstances and their many friends wish them an abundance of the good things of life. After the ceremony a_two-course lunch was served by Misses Grace and Gladys Vieth, sisters of the bride, and Edyth Garris and Ruby Fizzell. The bride and groom left immediately for Omaha. They will tour the west and will be at home to their friends after October sixteenth, in an apartment in Omaha. The out-of-town guests in attendance at the wedding were Mrs. Cecil Bar num and children of Leon, Iowa, and Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Harvey of Omaha.
