Gettysburg should not allow this anni- I versary occasion to go by without tak- -ing some note of it. and County Super- ‘ intendent Roth is now formulating \ plans whereby the teachers of the | cdunty may join in the occasion. i Suggestions as ‘co the general plan ! of the celebration are being received | and Prof. Roth will be glad to hear { from persons, actually interested, of! any ideas for the proper observance of j the day. - 1There are living in Gettysburg and j vicinity many persons who heard President Lincoln deliver the memorable address and who have vivid recollections of all the occurrences of the dedication. It is the plan to ha\e as many of these present as possible and, in order that arrangements may be started at an early date, all those who were present at the time are asked to communicate that fact immediately to The Gettysburg Times.The monument to Lincoln’s Address in the National Cemetery has never been dedicated and it has been sug* gested that it wouIg be well, the weather permitting, to hold the exercises there instead of in Brua Chapel. An afternoon will be given over to the occasion and an elaborate program will be worked out.School authorities in a number of places are taking up the proposition to observe in a fitting manner the anniversary of the great speech and Prof. Roth has received from various places requests for information regarding the details of its delivery and what the proper sort of recognition would be.
