Vicente Armijo y Otero, ex-deputy sheriff of Bernalillo county, accused of killing Juan Jose Martinez, while in the discharge of his duty, was acquitted yesterday by a'trial jury at Albuquerque. Messrs. • T, B. Catron, of Santa Fe, and Neill B. Field, of Albuquerque, were attorneys for the defendant. The circumstances of the killing were as follows: Armijo had in Ins hands ii warrant of arrest for Martinez and called at his house for the purpose of arresting him; knocking at the door Martinez came out and at oncemade a motion to pull his revolver on the*deputy, who noticing the motion, was quicker, and shot him through the head.
