Adams attributes the lack of game to his anti-bird tactics and to the belief that “this is one of those years when the numbers of migrating birds are down.”In fact, the waterfowl population has been held to about 175 since last spring, but that was through the efforts of Mountlake Terrace parks and recreation department personnel who were harrassing the birds.The Mountlake Terrace City Council voted in November to pay the feds to take the case, which has been a nuisance for more than a decade.City employees used to shoot the birds, but Adams doesn’t plan to take such extreme measures.
