From Buenos Ayres naval notes the April 8 clash saw Urquiza’s squadron of steamers battle five or six Buenos Ayrean sailing vessels for two hours. Two Buenos Ayrean ships were captured, the Buenos Ayrean admiral wounded, about a dozen killed, two officers wounded, and the Leopold’s captain witnessed the wounded Buenos Ayrean colonel being brought in.
