The Water Seeker and the Gold Seeker Tale
Zealous and Patient Jones, two brothers from a New York State family, journey to the Mexican frontier in search of gold. Zealous pursues wealth in distant mountains, is ruined by greed, but is saved by his brother Patient and his wife Zanetta and Julietta, who build a prosperous life. Patient later urges moderation and partnership, returning to the United States with Zealous, who learns the virtue of honest industry.
