Needle in Soap Causes Painful Hand Injuries
Masbrouck of 26 Jackson Street, a well known Ginner and metalworker, suffered a rare accident when a needle hidden in a cake of soap punctured both hands while washing. One piece was removed easily, the other penetrated the palm and required hours of probing. Dr. G. M. Steele took an X ray before an operation succeeded in locating and removing the needle. The local theory is the needle was concealed in the soap vat during soap-making.
