Body of Man Found in River Near Oshkosh Bridge
The body of 57 year old Norbert Hagenroth was found early this morning floating in the Fox River near the south end of the Chicago and North Western Railroad bridge by fisherman Lester Wilson. Police say no foul play is evident. Hagenroth, a widower with three children, had lived in Oshkosh about 14 years after working as a painter in Racine and previously living in Winter Haven Florida. A letter in his wallet from the Wisconsin State Employment Service suggested he sought work through them. His relatives may be in Minneapolis and authorities there were being contacted. He was last seen Wednesday afternoon at Sam's Place restaurant asking for food and a place to sleep. He reported sleeping in boxcars and said insects bothered him.

Fair Runs Out Of Gate Tickets
For the first time in its history the Winnebago County Fair ran completely out of gate tickets as record throngs attended. Secretary Robert J. Misky said leftovers from children's grandstand tickets were pressed into service. A gala show headlined by the Lennon Sisters and JoAnn Castle drew a capacity grandstand audience, with six hundred folding chairs occupied and benches filled at the last minute. The fair attracted another large crowd on its final Thursday, featuring the Oshkosh fire department’s Old Versus Modern show and a band cooperative with Local 46. William Lensen, father of the Lennon Sisters, made a notable public appearance.

Lomira Man Killed as Toll Hits 571 on State Roads
A Lomira man, Thomas M Tollman, 21, died after a car left Highway 1151 west of Fond du Lac and struck a tree. He was a passenger in a car driven by John W Heisler, 37, also of Lomira, who suffered serious internal injuries. The state traffic toll rose to 571 for 1951, compared with 320 on the date last year. Heisler was pronounced at St Agnes Hospital Fond du Lac after midnight Thursday night.
