Memorial Day exercises in New York featured a large parade. The mayor and city officials reviewed the marchers at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument along Riverdale Drive as crowds cheered the veterans honored by the event.
In Richmond and Portsmouth Virginia crowds gathered for a memorial salute to Confederate and Union veterans. Governor Swanson praised the event as blue and gray veterans mingled. General Edwin J. Browne spoke in Washington D C and the Army and Navy union led as ever.
President Roosevelt and Vice President Fairbanks arrived from Canton to attend the Lawton monument unveiling in Indianapolis. The gnat! geanion of the Millers' Nacional federation opened its fifth annual convention in St. Louis Missouri on May 20. The session, held today, focused on committee work and discussions relating to the federation's renects and TEA discussions.
