Pleads Not Guilty in Dog Theft Case

In municipal court this morning Edward H B Wright entered a not guilty plea to larceny related to the alleged theft of a valuable dog owned by Casper Flour. Trial set for June 19 and jury to be struck June 17. Also details on Christian Rock pleading guilty to petty larceny after a modification of charges and a $25 fine plus costs.

Ladies Night Event at Appleton Church Banquet

About sixty ladies attended the church banquet at the Algoma Street Methodist church parlors. An elaborate dinner was served by church branches. City Attorney W. C. Cowling spoke, Miss Kate Williamson and Miss Nina H. Wallen played piano duets, and Mr Harwood shared experiences in Appleton politics. The Men’s club, active for three years, meets monthly with next gathering in the fall after the annual conference.

Auto Wheel Smashed After Street Collision Near White City

Premier touring car owned by L Frank Gates and T Frents narrowly escaped serious injury Monday afternoon on Doty Street near the railway crossing. A car from behind struck the rear, smashing the rear wheel but causing no further damage. Loss estimated at about 100. Gates had the auto moved to the city and repairs begun.

Delights and Troubadours Clash In City League Match

Two leading teams of the Business Men's Howling league, The Delights and the Troubadours, meet at Ideal alleys tonight for a prize funded by both squads. Preliminary examination of Nulua Schmidt for larceny from person

The preliminary examination of Nulua Schmidt on larceny from the person began at two o’clock this afternoon in municipal court. The charge states he stole $5 and a pair of switch keys from George F. Schomer while Schomer was intoxicated and unable to resist. Schmidt is represented by J. A. Knerner. the state is led by District Attorney W. J. Foulkes.

Car Wrecked By Torpedo In Chicago Illinois May Day

Two men were badly injured and many others suffered night injuries when a street car on the Calumet Electric railway was blown from the tracks by a torpedo at Ninety third Street and South Chicago Avenue. The car crashed into the roadway scattering passengers in a panic. A rumor linked the explosion to a plan to harm travelers to the Traverse gambling boat district, but police found no evidence.
