Michigan seeks six escaped prisoners in Upper Peninsula woods
Authorities pan the Upper Peninsula with roadblocks and search the wooded resort area near Marquette for six dangerous convicts who escaped from Marquette Prison Friday. A seventh man, Fred Bergdorf, was recaptured in a city dump. The six remain at large are John L. McDowell, Lloyd Russell, Charles Morrison, Joseph Saunders, John Podolski, and John McMachin. Warden Emory Jacques said the men are armed and highly dangerous with past escape attempts.
