Oshkosh Man Drowns Near Dam In River Mishap
Gordon Stowe, 23, of Oshkosh, fell from a rowboat over a dam crest as water ran 15 inches deep. Miss Lauretia Hunsader escaped the raging current to safety with rescue directed by Officer Clarence Resch. The body search by police, sheriff, and fire department continued without success. Former Brillion cashier Dawson gets three years
Milwaukee report states George E. Dawson, 38, former cashier of the Farmers and Merchants Exchange Bank of Brillion, Wisconsin, was sentenced by Federal Judge F. A. Geiger to three years in a federal penitentiary for five counts of fraud involving $35,291 entrusted to the bank. The judge rejected a plea for a concurrent sentence.
