A large U S Air Force strike hit the Quang Suoi barracks in North Vietnam, with ninety jets destroying 37 buildings in a 55 to 60 mile south corridor toward Hanoi. Military spokesmen confirmed all planes returned safely.
U S air power struck Quang Soui barracks near Hue and Phuoc Qui depot south of Hanoi in a dawn to afternoon campaign. Air force bombers plus support jets operated about 45 minutes over targets, with six buildings destroyed and four damaged. Navy planes also attacked road targets and a camouflaged Vietnamese PT boat before Vietnamese planes joined in with reconnaissance raids and leaflet drops.
