Two Area Youths Die in Car in Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
Near Eureka a 19 year old Eureka man David J Rosenthal and 17 year old Omro girl Rebecca E Davis were found dead in a parked car in a gravel pit east of Eureka early Sunday. Sheriff Peppler said the bodies were found at about 4 am and coroner Moore noted carbon monoxide poisoning with further lab tests to determine exact percentages and rule on cause.

Omro Boy Burned In Explosion
Karl Wirch, 14, was critically burned when gasoline spilled from a cap and ignited near a hot engine on an International Model 460 utility tractor near Omro. He remained in very critical condition at Mercy Medical Center burn facility, with most burns classified as third degree. Girl Drowns After Boat Capsizes On Fox River
Barbara Etteldorf a three year old Neenah girl died Sunday night after a boating accident on the Fox River near Racine Street bridge in Menasha. The child was pulled from beneath an overturned 16 foot boat owned by her father and died at Theda Clark Memorial Hospital. The craft carried ten people including her parents and siblings. Investigators have not determined the cause, while emergency crews performed resuscitation efforts. Barbara was born May 22, 1967, a member of St. Margaret Mary Church, with surviving family and relatives named. A private funeral is planned in Neenah.

Nine Die on Wisconsin Roads Over Weekend Crash Toll
A 72 year old Waukesha man Arnold Zimmer died at Theda Clark Hospital from injuries in a May 5 crash three miles south of Ripon on Highway 4449 and County Trunk KK. Nine people died in Wisconsin traffic accidents over the weekend, with Zimmer’s death pushing the toll for the period higher and the year’s total rising.
