City council plans to approve a resolution to assure WPA funded Oshkosh airport will serve public use if the city gains title after WPA project approval. Alderman Shumway said WPA project may total about 111000 and would start once city owns the land. A printing contract bid by The Oshkosh Northwestern is also to be awarded.

Baby Dies, Five Injured in Head-On Monroe Crash
A head-on collision on Highway 11 near Monroe left five family members injured and claimed the life of 5 month old Roland Rotenbuehler. Strike at Retlaw Hotel Settled in Fond du Lac

Japanese launch explosion kills many in Hong Kong waterfront
A boiler blast aboard a Japanese launch owned by Osaka Shosen Kaisha devastates the Hong Kong water front killing about seventy people. The Rio de Janeiro Maru passengers, mostly Japanese emigrants bound for South America, were returning to their ship when the blast sent bodies across Queen's Pier and onto nearby rooftops.
