Youth Dies After Motorcycle Crash Near Oshkosh
A Milwaukee area youth attending Wisconsin State University Oshkosh died Thursday after noon when tossed from a motorcycle and run over by a semi. John F. Cervero, 20, Greenfield, was killed instantly about 3 p.m. on Highway 21, a mile west of Oshkosh. Deputy sheriff Marvin R. Peppler said Cervero suffered multiple skull fractures. Cervero rode as a passenger on a cycle driven by Michael Schattschneider, 20, Ripon, who attempted to pass a dust-raising truck behind a car driven by Dona Mae Gruse, 36, Oshkosh. The cycle struck the truck’s rear, Cervero was thrown under the truck wheels. The fifth traffic fatality in Winnebago County this year. The 1965 Wisconsin toll rose to 288 dead. Florence Benzmiller, 63, Lodi, died in a Columbus County bus crash. 42 others injured. Cervero had graduated from Francis Jordan High School Milwaukee and was a freshman at WSU Oshkosh. member of Delta Sigma Phi. He lived at Breese Hall. County Will Acquire Marathon's Hangar
Winnebago County moves to take full title to Marathon Hangar at the county airport under a resolution to be presented next Tuesday. Marathon, a division of American Can Co., would terminate its 20 year lease begun October 1, 1935 and quit claim its interest. Basler Flight Service would assume Marathon's lease obligations to the county. Basler, whose sublease was verbal after Marathon moved operations to New York in March, expects to negotiate a direct county lease for the hangar when the building reverts. If approved, the county gains the hangar and its use in half the original lease term, now available for renting rather than in 1975. Basler has used the hangar since Marathon's removal earlier this year.

One Dead 42 Injured In Bus Auto Collision
