White Plains N Y March 7 1950 A sentence of 10 to 20 years in Ingongo prison was imposed on George Rera 27 driver of the car in which Merle Vandenbush and another accomplice were captured after the Northern Westchester Bank robbery near Katonah on Feb 25 County Judge Gerald Nolan told Rera You allowed two police officers to open the rear of your car without warning them when you knew two armed men were riding there That might have resulted in their deaths Vandenbush and George Rera's cousin Tony Rera were sentenced March 16 to terms of 45 to 70 years in Sing Sing for the bank robbery.
