Tragic Drowning During Family Fishing Trip in Oshkosh
Six year old Daniel Gibson died after slipping into the Fox River near the Soo Line bridge while his father Robert Gibson, unable to swim, attempted a rescue. The incident occurred shortly before 3 PM on Sunday. Police and fire crews recovered the body around 3:20 PM. he was pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital. He was born in Oshkosh on April 6, 1959 and attended Smith School. he is survived by his parents, two brothers, a sister, and grandparents.
