A Dunkirk report states that Robert J. Groas vice president of Brooke Locomotive Works confirms the formation of the American Locomotive Company. Northfield Minnesota reports a telegram from Cape Town South Africa noting a new comet with a well defined nucleus and a tail about two degrees long. Dr. Wilson expects to locate the object in the western sky around sunset in a few days. The item ends with a stray line on women and money.
The Wisconsin Senate killed the pool selling bill by 22 to 6 and defeated a reconsideration. It also killed bills on double head trains and the Torrens land system. In the Assembly, a voting machine commission bill passed and the stationary engineers license bill was killed.
