Former Manitowoc editor Edward Mackey dies in Frederick Street
Edward W. Mackey, former Manitowoc newspaper publisher and editor of the Herald, News and later the Herald Times, died suddenly at age 64 while working as an associate area census supervisor. Born February 12, 1876 in Green County, he moved to Manitowoc in 1898, helped merge papers in 1918, and was active in Democratic politics and civic groups.
