Bike riding boy killed by car in Fond du Lac County
A 12 year old Van Dyne boy died after the bicycle he rode was struck from behind by a car on Highway 175 in Fond du Lac County. The driver, Michael J. Nitz, 17, Oshkosh, said he did not see the bicycle in darkness. The victim, Scott G. Reinhold, was taken to SS Agnes Hospital and died at 1 30 a.m. Funeral services were set for Thursday at 2 p.m. at Dyne with burial in the parish cemetery.

Freed American POWs Cleared From Viet Cong Prisons
The last 32 U S prisoners of war returned to freedom in Hanoi as phase one of a three day operation to liberate all Indochina prisons. Army Col Benjamin Harrison Purcell led the group back, praising freedom as man’s most precious possession next to life. Four more Air Force jets were set to evacuate 116 more POWs from Hanoi and Laos, with all U S POWs scheduled for release by Thursday.
