Jetliner crashes on mountain killing 16 in Italy
A Comet IV airliner carrying members of King Saudi's entourage crashed near Mt Matto in Italy, killing all 16 aboard including seven staff and a nine member crew. The king was not aboard. The plane went down in a rainstorm while returning to the Riviera from Nice. Snow covered the scene. Aix-en-Provence said it occurred halfway up the two mile peak. UW Budget Cut Proposed in Wisconsin Legislature For University
A $113 million cut over two years was recommended by a subcommittee of the Legislature to reduce Gov. Joan Reynolds's $94.8 million two year UW budget.
