Relative will be quizzed in death of social leader

Canton police planned to question a 36 year old male relative of Mrs Rose Cable, slain Canton's social leader, about his whereabouts when a fatal shotgun blast shattered the breakfast room window. Investigators rushed to Cleveland for a clue in the slaying of Deuber Cable's wife while authorities sought motive and matched footprints.

Strike action by city building trades workers

Oshkosh building trades council union members walked off jobs over an un signed agreement that would recognize the union and set wage scales. Contractors say the pact gives the union a voice in disputes. officials warn no work resumes until the agreement is signed. About 45 to 60 workers are involved across Oshkosh and nearby cities.

Kidnapping Pair Seized After Car Nabs Across States

A man and woman, armed, kidnapped three men and hijacked one car in a spree starting near Janesville Iowa. They abducted Jake Shaffner near St. Joseph Missouri, later releasing him. also abducted BE Hill of Platte City and taxi driver John Campbell in Kansas City, taking their car and leaving him on a Drexel highway. The couple, about 25 to 30, fled with multiple vehicles and prompted police searches across Missouri and Iowa.

1936 Auto Licenses Expire March 15

Wisconsin motorists are reminded that 1936 automobile licenses expire March 15. Drivers without updated plates may face arrest. A.C Hartman, head of the state automobile license division, reported issuance of more than 15,000 plates daily with over 302,400 new licenses issued so far. The total for 1936 was 363,000.

Inventor of Electric Arc Welding Dies in Swampscott

Dr Ettha Thomson nearly 84 and a pioneer of electric arc welding at General Electric died at his Swampscott home after a long illness. A contemporary of Edison, he held patents dating back to 1886 and helped shape transformer work and watt meters while contributing to science through flourished inventions in centrifuges and astronomical instrumentation. His death leaves widow Clarissa Hovey and three sons Rol­and, Maksim, and Donald.

Five Die as Boliviano Plane Crashes Near La Paz
