Woman Dies In Car Accident Near Wisconsin Rapids
Mrs Lillian Kell aged unknown of 637 West South Park Avenue was killed when the Kell vehicle ran off Highway 73 southeast of Wisconsin Rapids and crashed into a tree. Her husband William 77 survived with a broken arm hip and multiple cuts. The accident occurred on a slippery road. Funeral arrangements will be announced. Also reported: Ray Lackman 68 of Union Grove died when his car slid into a freight train at Whitehall grade crossing during a snowstorm. George E Krieser of Mayville died in a two car collision on Highway 175 south of Fond du Lac. Clarence W Benoy 30 of rural Chetek was killed when his car struck a snowplow on I-94 near Menomonie in heavy snow.

SELMA, Ala. AP Mayor Joseph T. Smitherman said there will be no civil rights march on the Dallas County Courthouse today though a compromise had been reported. He banned all marches, and the City Council has not agreed to any compromise or march.
