Oshkosh Bassball Association signs 24 players for 1908 season
Twenty four men with pro ball records report April 15 after contracts issued to all but Alvin Dolan who will seek arbitration. The list includes ten pitchers and several strong fielders led by Edward Stanford a top hitter from Wheeling and Harry Groh a fast shortstop. Newcomers include Walter Dempser Stephen Kolar and Charles J Grool among others. Managers anticipate a strong squad to be formed from signings with exhibition games planned before the season and possible Sunday contests to offset training costs.
