Fond du Lac Wisconsin March 3 George Willett the used man struck by a Chicago and Northwestern passenger train Wednesday died last night at St Agnes hospital His only known relatives are two nephews who reside in this city John O Jones of Racine who was awarded the contract for constructing 4950 dollars worth of payments here this summer is in the city and has signed the papers in the contract He will move his family here and begin work shortly The Merchants association has decided to offer release on railroad fares to persons coming here to trade The steamboat excursions will run when navigation opens but more specific plans will be laid at its meeting to be held soon The Spanish American war veterans are considering a plan to withdraw from the national organization an independent lodge will be formed if plans carry In clewit court today the case of C E Lucas vs Hernard Sheridan and W F Sheridan was tried It is an action to recover damages in the sum of 550 for alleged destruction of personal property Lucas had stored in a house boat some goods which were held under writ of replevin It is alleged that during this time Sheridan who served the instrument destroyed or allowed to be destroyed 550 worth of fish nets and other tools The case of Robert F Mosher v Chicago and Northwestern Railway company and that of David Kenckle v company have been continued The next case to come up is that of Phillip Gardner v Paine Lumber company of Oshkosh Attorneys A E Thompson M H Eaton and Charles Barber are here to try It.
Harrisburg March bill by Mr Bluml of Cameron county proposes subsidies for large families and awards gold medals to mothers. Prizes range from 10 to 50 dollars with a 50 dollar medal for families with nine to fifteen children. The seventh son or daughter born in the state would be educated at state expense up to 500 dollars. Medal designs would come from the governor and the act excludes divorced or separated women.
Charles A. Anderson received notice that his claim filed with the state department in Washington against the government of China has been allowed. Judgment rendered in his favor for 443 dollars for the death of his two missionary sisters killed by Boxers during the uprising three years earlier in Mongo Ya province China.
A special to The Evening Wisconsin from Appleton Wisconsin says Judge Shim Ryan's condition remains very serious but not expected to be fatal for days. He is very weak and his family stays constant at his side.
The Wisconsin legislature discusses race issues and appoints delegates to a July conference in Atlanta to address black conditions. Resolutions urge gubernatorial appointment of ten delegates by Governor La Follette. Separately a bill to cut insurance commission fees is sent to the judiciary committee, and the bill ending Milwaukee Gas Company's exclusive franchise survives a heated debate and moves to Ways and Means.
Count Camillo Peech reports to the Associated Press that the pope is not suffering from a specific illness and plans to resume audiences. The pontiff insists on staying active, rising at 4 AM today and meeting with Cardinal Rampolla, while continuing to answer telegrams and attend the usual sermon and services.
Madison March 5 The Wisconsin Consumers League convention opened at 2 39 pm with the annual address by Mrs B C Gudden Oshkosh president. She outlined gains for women in stores and factories and urged compulsory education bills and child labor reforms. A reception followed at the executive chambers hosted by Mr La Follette.

Chicago March 8 Associated Press Harry P Brolaski Mattie Woodin and A L Breck were arrested weeks ago in a police probe of alleged fraudulent turf investment schemes. They were found today to be keeping a gaming house. Brolaski was absent and forfeited bonds in two cases of obtaining money under false pretenses.

Mrs Julia Wires Hobart wife of H A Hobart died Wednesday evening at 107 Jefferson Avenue after eighteen years of heart disease including dilatation and dropsy. She was born in Cambridge Vermont in 184? and would have turned 62 next September. A former schoolteacher she remained active in temperance and Sunday school work in Wisconsin and Michigan. Survived by husband and her ninety three year old father the funeral is set for Saturday at 2 PM at 107 Jefferson Avenue with Rev H Amerson presiding.
Henry M. Frey, an assailant worker, was found guilty of perjury and conspiracy to obtain a divorce, receiving an indeterminate penitentiary term. Co-defendants Carl Larsen and James F. Johnson were fined $9 each for their testimony, while Frey’s $1,901 fine was also levied. the case involved fraud and a fictitious marriage claim to split Myra Frey from him.
Mrs John Greenwood and her three daughters aged sixteen twelve and eleven were struck by a southbound Cincinnati freight train while crossing the Big Four trestle west of Springfield at 7 18 am. The mother and eldest daughter were instantly killed while the other two fatally injured. All were swept into water fifty feet below. Mrs Greenwood worked at Bettendorf Metal Wheel Co. Engineer Healy said fog hindered visibility to twenty five feet. In St Louis a fogbound day caused multiple streetcar collisions though no serious injuries reported.
Chicago March 5 Associated Press engineers at the stock yards met to consider an arbitration offer from large packing firms. A conference was arranged between union officers and plant representatives as packers threaten a general strike and have warned customers of potential shortages if negotiations fail.
Associated Press reports that Rusie Cantrell will not be allowed to travel to Chicago with detectives to aid in a corpse theta investigation at a cemetery. Judge Alford barred the prisoner from leaving the state for the inquiry in Sheage amierrow.

They suspect a romance turned fatal after Burdick discussed divorce and a marriage plan with the suspected woman, who allegedly struck him and stole letters and a gas lit scene before fleeing.
