Chicago reports state Mayor Thompson faces pressure over the Lingle murder case as police detain and screen hundreds of suspects with few clues. Oshkosh plans a historic dedication parade led by Gov Kohler and Gen Kohler with a large turnout and national figures in a commemorative site ceremony.
Secretary Stimson advised the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to base treaty action on the treaty language itself. He acknowledged the committee’s resolution in a brief letter to Chairman Borah and did not mention forwarding notes among powers for the London talks. Borah scheduled another meeting for Monday as a majority appeared ready for immediate treaty action.
Frances Mulhern aged 14, daughter of Mr and Mrs J M Mulhern, stepped into a hole while swimming in Black Earth creek Mazomanie Wis with three sisters and two companions and drowned late yesterday. The body was recovered.
The Senate has approved a bill to repeal the World War era Espionage Act. The measure was enacted quietly without debate and would remove twenty year prison terms for subversive acts and gavel authority for Postmasters to block sedition in mail. Senator Walsh of Montana introduced the repeal, now awaiting House action.
Governor Kohler of Wisconsin proclaims June 14 as Flag Day and urges display of the flag on public buildings schools and private homes. He calls patriotic groups to observe with proper exercises as tomorrow marks the 153rd anniversary of the flag’s adoption.
Patrick O Connell a 55 year old plumber was buried in wet sand up to his neck while digging holes for city water pipes in La Crosse Wisconsin. As walls caved in his head remained exposed and he suffocated before rescue crews could free him.
Governor Walter Kohler urged Wisconsin county leaders to pursue greater unanimity on highway financing and to improve the federal highway system. He linked snow removal to state responsibility, stressed budgeting between state and counties, and highlighted northern Wisconsin tourism as a major industry needing through roads.

Wisconsin Governor Walter J. Kohler escaped unharmed when his plane ground looped near Kohler. Col W L Smith and Melvin Thompson also unharmed as one wheel locked causing a topple. The motor tore loose and a fence post penetrated the fuselage before a replacement plane arrived in Milwaukee for a flight to Eagle River.
Edward F. McGrady of the American Federation of Labor testified before the House Communist Investigating Committee that communists were aiding certain "100 percent American employers" to divide workers. He cited Virginia’s Danville River Mill site and a Gallon Milly owner named Fitzgerald as employing communists and discharging workers, while accusing southern textile mills of shifting tensions from Black to white employees. He linked communist influence to the Gastonia North Carolina strike and urged broader scrutiny.
South Beloit police found 450 gallons of alcohol near a hob o camp south of Beloit. Officers punched holes in cans before tossing them into the river, stirring an investigation by the hob o fraternity.
Norman Van Ob le faces a cruelty allegation in a divorce petition filed by Mrs. Van Noble. She alleges he drank all the cream from the milk, leaving skim milk for her, describing it as cruelty in the complaint.

Superior Wisconsin reports two tornadoes cloudbursts and severe lightning across the region. A Chetek man died from a heart attack linked to the electrical storm. Park Falls Alma Center and Ladysmith suffered property damage including a transmission line outage and several towers down. Farm losses, a Brown county bank roof hit, and the Norrie ski slide wrecked with $4.08 damage are noted.

She argues women are too conscientious, burdened by details, and should delegate to secretaries while learning to relax and play golf or its equivalent and to disagree agreeable.
Madison and Green Bay to host a junior draftsman examination for the state highway commission. The Madison test will be held June 2 and the Green Bay test on June 17, as announced by the state bureau of personnel.

He cited 4 590 mental illness cases needing care, 600 more monthly, and said Johnson bill relief costs under 100 million dollars with expected presidential approval. He also pressed insurance for future wars and urged prompt congressional action to study and enact a universal draft plan.
