Theodore Roosevelt was officially informed of his nomination for vice president at Sagamore, his Oyster Bay home. Paris July 12 M Lasses prominent Nationalist deputy linked to chamber disturbances dueled with swords against journalist Gerault Richard in a Paris suburb. The clash grew from a La Petite Republique article. In the eleventh round Lasses was wounded in the arm and the duel was halted.
The National Education Association today elected J M Green of the state normal school of Trenton New Jersey as president. N C Greenlee of Colorado was chosen treasurer to succeed Btr Pearse of Omaha. Irwin Shepard of Wine Mint remains as secretary.
Officials of the Milwaukee public museum report a robbery of a large collection of rare coins valued between 5 000 and 10 000 dollars. The museum is housed in the Horary Building. A reward or clue details are unclear from the fragment.
