Two Men Sentenced for Failing to File State Taxes

In Eau Claire County Judge Connor Hansen sentenced Clifford G. Calkins of Woodruff to six years probation and a $250 fine for failing to file tax returns from 1957 to 1990. Ernest Dominick of Stevens Point, working in Wisconsin Rapids, received four months in jail under the Hubner Act and two years probation for failing to file returns from 1955 to 1960. Both must file returns and pay taxes, interest and penalties within six months.

Three Deaths Raise State Toll to 408

The Wisconsin traffic toll for 1941 rises to 408 with three new fatalities. Marie Kalmanson seven died after being struck by a car on Highway 178 near Chippewa Falls. Drowned survivor from Merrill gas blast identified

In Merrill Wisconsin 11 year old Richard Yorde drowned while swimming on the Wisconsin River Friday, a year after his mother Elsie Yorde and brother David 12 perished in the J C Penney Co store explosion.
