Appleton Woman Among Four Killed In Bus Crash
An Appleton woman Janet Bartmann, 19, died when a Scenic Hawk bus rolled off a soft shoulder on U.S. Highway 52 near Rochester, Minnesota. Also killed were Pfc. Gary B. Running, 24, Barbara Borquist, 19, and Sister Shirley Stepher, 37. One Appleton passenger Kathy Connolly, 19, injured and released. Bartmann was UW Oshkosh sophomore, volunteer worker, with survivors including parents and sisters. Funeral planned at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. Continued on Page 8.
